SARS – Special Anti-Robbery Squad is a unit in the Nigeria Police force to tackle crimes and robbery cases, but later the years it has turn upside down, the unit which said to protect the people is now against the people by tagging any young Nigerian youth as a YAHOO boy and extorting money from them if they refuse they kill the person immediately without arrest or anything.

Later at some point a month ago, the Unit killed an enormous number of Nigeria young people, which lead to the dissent by all Nigeria mentioning to band and dissolve SARS UNIT.

The Nigerians call on the government to dissolve the unit which started on twitter with hash tag #EndSars, the youths have been on the street for over two2) weeks now calling the Federal Government of Nigeria to put an end to police brutality and justice.

The reason the protesters is not stopping is that the IGP (Inspector General Of Police) has refused to listen to the voice of the Youths and upon protest, the police are still killing the youths currently on a daily basis which was the same reason they are fighting for, The President of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari tagged Peaceful protesters as Stubborn and disrespect to democracy.

That they will be a force to send the Nigeria Army to all protesters if they failed to leave the street, The IGP has dissolved the UNIT, but still deploying the members of SARS to the police unit as an officer. which the Youths said NO.

So there were FIVE 5 Demands made to the IGP by Nigerian Youths:

  1. Release of arrested protesters
  2. Justice for victims of police brutality
  3. Prosecution of police ‘bad eggs’
  4. Retraining of ex-SARS members
  5. Police salary increase

We the Youths said until action is taken we will not leave the street, Airport of Lagos and Abuja with some major road to other states has been blocked by protesters.
