Mukuru, one of Africa’s fastest-growing financial services company has rebranded, ditching its old logo and announcing its expansion into sport. The Zimbabwean company offers money transfer services around Africa and Asia through its network of 60 global partners, and its 42 branches across Africa. In 2021, the company made over 50 million in services that range from cash transfers, funeral cover, card services, wallet services, and groceries.
While the cow mascot was good for a start-up, critics say the company might have left like the logo became all too “simplistic” for a brand that was making big waves on a global level. A simple and visually balanced sun-like emblem made up of a series of Ms has replaced the highly expressive cow and toes logo that seemed to grow on people.
The Zimbabwe-based remittance company also announced its sponsorship deal with the Premier League
English football team, Crystal Palace FC, as well as, Mighty Wanderers FC, Malawi’s Super League Team .The company also entered a brand ambassador deal with Springbok legend Tendai “The Beast” Mtawarira.
