New report findings have emerged, shedding more light on the life of Isaac R. Johnson, the first Black man who invented and patented the bicycle frame that is similar to what is used in modern-day.
According to the latest report by Urban Intellectuals, an African American man, Isaac R. Johnson, from New York overcame racial injustices to successfully patent the bicycle frame on October 10, 1899, at the age of 87.
The report further revealed that he was not the very first person to try making the bicycle frame, but Johnson was the first successful man to invent and patent the bicycle frame. His invention could also be folded or taken apart for easy storage, a feature missing on the modern-day bicycle frames.
