African Team Wins International High School Moot Court Competition

Africa’s team was crowned World Champions at the 2022 International High School Moot Court Competition. The team made up of eleven Zimbabwean high school students, represented Africa at the 2022 International Competition held on March 14.

Sixteen countries participated and Zimbabwe was the only country representing Africa in the virtual event with a team of nine girls and two boys. Some of the team members are Palesa Sigauke, Kuziva Khuleya, Hazel Chiige, Tadiwa Choto, and Chiyevo Mukonoweshuro. The students are decorated public speakers selected from different schools around the country. 

In a Moot Court, students get a hypothetical case and they are allocated sides either prosecution or defense and they will then make arguments before a panel of judges.
