Ghana has so far deported 562 street beggars identified as Nigerian, back to their country. About 1000 migrants living off begging on the streets of Accra, including kids will be repatriated to Nigeria during the ongoing operation between the Nigerian Embassy in collaboration with the government of Ghana. The migrants have reportedly become a public nuisance, occupying medians and traffic intersections of some busy streets to harass motorists and pedestrians for money.
