Police in Ohio has released more information about an officer-involved shooting that occurred last week.
Officials say that Jayland Walker, a 25-year-old Black man, was shot and killed by Akron police after a pursuit came to an end. The chief of police has noted that Walker was unarmed during the shooting but a firearm was found inside his vehicle.
An autopsy report obtained by WKYC indicates that Walker was shot more than 60 times.
An attorney representing the Walker family says he has not seen any evidence yet regarding allegations that Walker had shot at officers or that Walker was fleeing from police when they shot at him.
The eight involved officers are currently on paid administrative leave pending an independent investigation.
