According to the World Food Programme (WFP), 30,000 tonnes of Ukrainian wheat ordered for use in Ethiopia are anticipated to arrive in neighboring Djibouti the next week.
According to Claire Neville, the WFP’s Ethiopian representative, the wheat will help the organization’s efforts to feed millions of people who are suffering from food insecurity as a result of continuous conflicts and severe drought.
The food will aid the organization’s nationwide efforts, which will help 3.4 million people in the northern areas of Tigray, Afar, and Amhara who have been affected by a devastating civil war that started 22 months ago, Ms. Neville continued. In the eastern Somali region, where 2.4 million more people are anticipated to get aid, people who have been hit by consecutive seasons of low rainfall.
