Over 15 people, including women and children have been counted dead after a deadly landslide swept through Kasika village in Kasese district, Lukoli sub county Uganda.
This happened after heavy rainfall on Tuesday September 6th 2022. The landslides did not only claimed the lives of people but also those of livestock, and leaving the animals wounded or buried. Property and gardens were destroyed affecting the livelihoods of survivors.
Reports from the Uganda Red Cross Society state that they were still excavating bodies that are buried under the mud. As well as accommodate those that lost their homes and treating the wounded.
