The former President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, is in Virginia, USA to address the 500 CEO Summit, WNN has learnt. He is among other African leaders in government and business invited to talk to CEOs of major companies, exploring potential for investment and the US-Africa business relationship.
The events will be hosted by the christian institution Liberty University School of Business, in conjunction with Georgetown University and the Historically Black institution (HBCU) Howard University.
President John Dramani Mahama who led Ghana from 2012 to 2017, left a legacy of investments in educational infrastructure of the West African country. He is expected to deliver a lecture on “Reforming Institutions and Strengthening Legal Frameworks: The role of African governments”.
According to a press release, he is expected to deliver a speech at the Liberty University’s convocation ceremony and later, deliver the keynote at the opening dinner of the 500 CEO Summit on Wednesday. He will also hold a question and answer session as well as, meet various business and student groups.
President Mahama has been advocating for the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and sustainable economic growth in Africa. He recently urged the government of Ghana to explore financial relief from multinational institutions in order to solve the country’s macroeconomic woes and debt distress.
The former president of Ghana is expected to push for significant investment in Africa through critical business partnerships. He will further guide influential American CEOs on getting started and doing business with Africa.
Among other notable guests at the 500 CEO Summit are: Ghanaian CEO of Stanel Group, Dr. Stanley Uzochukwu; the U.S. Attorney General Matt Whitaker; Dr. Cosmas Maduka, CEO of Coscharis Group; Jerry Prevo President of Liberty University; Dr. Dave Brat former US Congressman.
