Cameroonian President Paul Biya’s 40 years in power celebration turned into a bloody fiasco that resulted in the death of one of his ministers as a mob of disgruntled Cameroonians stormed the venue. This is according to reports as well as photos, and video footage circulating on social media.
In 2018, Paul Biya of Cameroon was re-elected for his seventh term. Biya, who has been the president of Cameroon since 1982, has a long record of resorting to force to maintain his grip on power. The most recent election was marred by allegations of fraud and concerns that many were too afraid to even vote.
One of Africa’s longest-ruling presidents, Mr.Paul Biya, is said to have traveled to France to celebrate his 40th year in power. It is further reported that a group of Cameroonians living in France mobilized and went to the venue, wrecking the set-up including the cake. President Biya escaped unharmed, however, some guests were harmed including one of the ministers who succumbed to injuries.
