It was an emotional reunion of families when the commercial flight Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 landed at Mekelle Alula Abanega International Airport in Ethiopia after 2 years after the civil war on Wednesday. People separated from their loved ones on 28 June 2021 were reunited following the Pretoria Peace Deal that saw a ceasefire being brokered through the African Union in November. Now Tigray is on its way to finding a peaceful resolution to the civil war after 2 years when the federal government disconnected Tigray, a province accused of succession, from basic services including transport, telecoms, and banking.
