The Nelson Mandela Stadium in Algeria is now complete, according to Algeria’s Minister of youth and sports, Abdel Razzak Sabkak who on Chrismas eve announced the newly constructed 40,000+ capacity national stadium in Algiers had been named after former South Africa’s founding father and former president Nelson Mandela.
The new 40,784 seater arena is the first football-only stadium in the country and is set to host the opening and final of the 2023 African Nations Championship (CHAN Algeria) matches this January.
