New Delhi: The importance India places on global relationships is evident from the positive approach Denmark’s Ambassador holds towards the nation. On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Denmark, Ambassador Freddy hosted a cultural program at his residence on Tuesday.

During the event, the Danish Ambassador lauded the diplomatic ties between India and Denmark, stating, “The relationship between the two countries dates back centuries. They emphasize the Green Strategic Partnership and highlight that the trade and relations between India and Denmark are at their best.”

It is worth noting that in February, Denmark’s Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen visited India and held discussions with Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, signing several agreements. During this visit, the two leaders exchanged views on bilateral, regional, and international issues and commemorated 75 years of India-Denmark diplomatic relations.

Additionally, the ministers agreed to explore opportunities to establish partnerships for recruiting Indian healthcare professionals for employment in Denmark. Furthermore, according to the ministry, both ministers agreed to work towards expanding Indo-Danish cooperation in new areas, including defense, security, and emerging technologies.

Highlighting the strength of the relationship between the two countries in Delhi, Ambassador Freddy mentioned the successful visit of his Foreign Minister to India, stating, “In recent decades, both countries have seen significant depth in various areas such as trade, technology, education, and culture.” While discussing tourism between India and Denmark, the Danish Ambassador emphasized, “Contact… tourism, and cultural relations are very important.”

Celebrating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Denmark, Ambassador Freddy also hosted a cultural program at his residence, attended by diplomats from various countries and Indian government officials, including Foreign Minister Meenakshi Lekhi.

On this occasion, Minister of State for Culture and Foreign Affairs Meenakshi Lekhi specifically mentioned the close historical, cultural, and traditional ties between Denmark and India.

Reflecting on the ancient ties between the two countries, Lekhi stated that this relationship should be further strengthened and consolidated by future generations.
